Salvatore Lorenzo is a professor of physics of matter at the Physics and Chemistry department of the University of Palermo. He holds the Italian National Scientific Habilitation as Full Professor in Theoretical Physics of Matter (02B2).

His academic journey includes postdoctoral research positions at various universities, such as Milano, Cosenza, and Palermo, and visiting researcher roles at institutions like the University of Belfast and the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics (IFISC) at the University of Balearic Islands.

He is actively involved in the academic community, serving as a referee for esteemed journals like PRL, PRX Quantum, PRR, PRA, PRB, NJP, EPL and being a member of editorial boards for journals such as Plos One and Heliyon-Physics.
